Meet Our Committee

Our dedicated committee members of the Watercolour Society of Queensland, are a passionate group of volunteers committed to making a difference. Meet each of these members and learn about the unique skills and perspectives they bring to our group. Their contributions and enthusiasm are the driving force behind our initiatives.

Jackie Williams

Jackie is a Data Analytics and AI Consultant with a Master's degree in Business Administration and Graduate Dip. in Data Analytics. A lifelong art enthusiast, who believes artistic expression has a unique power to unite people, facilitate connection and understanding, she became a passionate devotee of watercolour as a university student in the USA in her late teens & her 20s. After a too-long hiatus from her brushes, Jackie returned to painting in 2017.  She is thankful to WSQ for providing amazing opportunities to connect with and learn from many talented Australian artists, and she looks forward to getting to better know our members and extending the value WSQ provides to its membership.

Treasurer

Karen Robinson-Foote

Karen is a professional Genealogist (Diploma in Family Historical Studies), with a particular interest in solving family mysteries using the tools of DNA.  An avid reader of non-fiction, social history and science, Karen has always been creative and had a love of art for as long as she can remember. While raising her three amazing children she found various creative pursuits including ATCs (Artist Trading Cards) swapping small pieces of original artwork with artists and hobbyists around the world; she was especially taken with the delicate pieces of watercolour art that found their way into her miniature collection.  Karen frequently visited WSQs Exhibitions at Mt Coot-tha with her eldest daughter, inspiring her to eventually join and enrol in Maria Field’s beginner class, entering the WSQ Exhibition for the first time in 2024.
