The Watercolour Society of Queensland is committed to fostering a welcoming, supportive, and inclusive community where artists of all backgrounds and experience levels can learn, create, and connect through watercolour.
1. PURPOSE
These Membership Terms and Conditions apply to all members of the Watercolour Society of Queensland Inc. and should be read in conjunction with the Society's Constitution, Code of Conduct, Privacy Policy, and other applicable policies.
2. MEMBERSHIP ELIGIBILITY
Membership is open to individuals who support the objectives of the Society.
Membership categories and fees are determined by the Committee and published on the Society website.
Membership is subject to approval in accordance with the Constitution.
3. MEMBERSHIP PERIOD
Membership commences upon payment and approval.
Membership remains active until its expiry date.
Renewal reminders may be sent prior to expiry.
4. MEMBERSHIP FEES
Membership fees are payable in advance.
Fees are generally non-refundable except where required by law or at the discretion of the Committee.
The Society reserves the right to amend membership fees from time to time.
5. MEMBER BENEFITS
Members may be entitled to benefits including:
Member pricing for workshops and events
Participation in member-only exhibitions and activities
Access to member-only website content and resources
Voting rights (where applicable under the Constitution)
Receipt of newsletters and Society communications Benefits may change from time to time.
6. MEMBER RESPONSIBILITIES Members agree to:
Treat others with courtesy and respect.
Comply with the Society's Code of Conduct.
Maintain accurate contact details.
Follow exhibition, workshop, and event requirements.
Support a welcoming and inclusive environment.
7. MEMBER-ONLY CONTENT
Member-only resources are provided for the personal use of members and must not be shared, distributed, reproduced, recorded, uploaded to other platforms, or used for commercial purposes without permission..
8. COMMUNICATIONS
Members may receive newsletters, event information, and important Society notices.
Members can manage communication preferences where applicable.
Essential administrative communications may still be sent regardless of marketing preferences.
9. PRIVACY
Personal information is collected, stored, and used in accordance with the Society's Privacy Policy.
10. SUSPENSION OR TERMINATION OF MEMBERSHIP
Membership may lapse due to non-payment.
Membership may be suspended or terminated in accordance with the Constitution and Code of Conduct.
Members will be afforded procedural fairness where required.
11. CHANGES TO MEMBERSHIP TERMS
The Society may amend these Membership Terms and Conditions from time to time. The current version will be published on the Society website.
