Meet Our Committee

Our committee is a team of dedicated volunteers who give their time, skills and enthusiasm to help the Watercolour Society of Queensland thrive.

Working together, they support our members, activities, exhibitions and the day-to-day running of the Society, each bringing their own experience, ideas and perspective to the team.

Meet the members who help keep WSQ moving forward.

President

Jackie Williams

Headshot of Jackie Williams

A Data Analytics and AI Consultant with a Master's degree in Business Administration and Graduate Dip. in Data Analytics, Jackie is a lifelong art enthusiast, who believes artistic expression has a unique power to unite people, facilitate connection and understanding by literally showing us how the world is seen through the eyes of another.

She became a passionate devotee of watercolour as a university student in the USA in her late teens and early 20s, and after a too-long hiatus from her brushes, she returned to watercolour in 2017.

She is thankful to WSQ for providing amazing opportunities to connect with and learn from many talented artists Australian and International and looks forward to extending the value WSQ provides to its membership and the community.

Help Shape the Future of WSQ

The Watercolour Society of Queensland is entirely volunteer run. Everything we offer, from painting sessions and workshops to exhibitions, member activities and opportunities to connect, is made possible by members who generously contribute their time and skills.

You don’t need previous committee experience or hours of spare time to make a difference. We’ve worked hard to simplify and automate many of our administrative tasks, and support is available to help you settle into a role. Whether you can bring professional experience, practical skills, fresh ideas, or simply a willingness to lend a hand and learn something new, your contribution is valuable.

We currently have several vacant roles and would love to hear from members who might be interested in getting involved. Sharing the work between more people helps keep volunteering enjoyable, manageable and sustainable, while bringing new perspectives and energy to our Society.

Could you be part of the team that helps WSQ thrive?

Explore our current vacancies below or get in touch at info@watercoloursocietyofqld.com.au for an informal conversation about how you might be able to help. There’s no pressure and no obligation, just an opportunity to find out more.
