Forget everything you have learnt before about the colour wheel and learn why Cyan, Yellow and Magenta are the true primary pigments rather than Blue, Yellow and Red! Mixing the right colour has always been one of the greatest challenges for artists. Stop struggling and learn how to make specific hues with Jan’s instruction using the CYM colour wheel and charts. These handy tools will be used for many years to come. All templates will be provided. Now is the time to finally have those references you always wanted but never got around to making yourself! Plus, you’ll learn how to mix common paint colours such as Indigo Blue, Hooker’s Green, and Alizarin etc. from just 3 primaries. You will also discover a no-fail system that will revolutionise your decision making for future colour schemes. With a combination of theory, demonstrations and a class project, students will gain new skills for mixing and matching colours to depict different moods and effects. References to transfer will be provided to save time for painting. Level: Suitable for experts and beginners alike, but some experience in watercolour is recommended. Materials: A materials list will be circulated nearer the time Time: 9 am (for 9.30 start) to 4 pm each day Cost: $200 for members for both days $250 for non-members for both days Morning and afternoon tea are provided, but please bring a lunch along. A small kitchen with a sink and microwave is available on-site. For more about Jan, see our Artists Gallery under About Us.
